The world's largest supply platform for sources of shortages and hard-to-find parts
Supplier Introduction
HISTORY
Originally started by three young men who were tired of working for large companies, TRM Microwave was formed as Technical Research and Manufacturing Inc. in June 1970.
Discouraged by the waste he saw within larger organizations, Tony Tirollo, one of the founders, left his job to follow his entrepreneurial spirit. He and his co-founders leased an old Radio Shack at Grenier Field and began developing high-end components for cable television. When a larger competitor filed suit over ownership of new technology Tony had developed, the case went to federal court. Tony won and the news ended up in the Wall Street Journal - immediately putting TRM on the map. Phones began ringing off the hook and the company was catapulted straight into the limelight. During subsequent years, the company became TRM Microwave, switched markets from CATV to defense and in 1992, moved to a larger facility in Bedford, NH. Tony became sole owner and married Wendy Tirollo in 1998. After her service as Director of Human Resources for 10 years, Tony asked Wendy if she would consider running the business. After thoughtful consideration, she accepted and Tony spent the next 5 years mentoring and preparing her for operating every aspect of the business.
In 2010, Wendy became CEO and Tony became CTO, allowing him to devote his time to the technical work he loved. In June 2015, ownership was passed to Wendy and TRM celebrated dual milestones – their 45-year anniversary and becoming a certified Woman-Owned Small Business. The WOSB certification attracted new opportunities and unlocked more paths for growth and development. Sadly, on May 21, 2016, the company’s beloved founder Tony Tirollo passed away.

CEO Wendy Tirollo is now personally and professionally dedicated to leading the business and implementing TRM’s Legacy plan – a long-term strategy plan for sustainable business growth that she and Tony developed together. This plan focuses on serving TRM’s customers with innovative product solutions and the manufacturing capabilities to meet our commitments. The first phase of TRM’s 10-year plan aligned organizational goals and built an infrastructure of people necessary to achieve the future growth objectives. This phase was successfully completed in 2015. The next phase was to focus on facility and capability expansion. With most of these goals accomplished in 2016, more have been set to be completed in 2017. Today, TRM is a vibrant, independent WOSB that will continue plans to invest in new technologies designed to serve our customers well into the future.
