Infineon Technologies AG (Infineon ) was founded in 1999, Before the spun off the semiconductor operations were part of the former parent company Siemens AG. Headquartered in Neubiberg, Germany. Jochen Hanebeck is President and CEO. Infineon is Germany's largest semiconductor manufacturer, selling semiconductors and systems for the automotive, industrial and multimarket sectors, as well as chip cards and security products.


The company focuses on automotive system chips, ESD/EMI, microcontrollers, radio frequency and wireless controls, sensor ICs, smart card ICs, transistor diodes, etc.

In August 2014, Infineon acquired International Rectifier for approximately $3 billion
