Qualcomm QCM4490 is a 5G NR + Wi-Fi 6E System-on-Chip, enabling advanced connectivity and performance for next-generation industrial and IoT devices.

The Qualcomm QCM4490 is a 5G NR + Wi-Fi 6E system-on-chip (SoC) that adds support for Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. The SoC delivers the high level of features needed for industry handhelds, industrial computing, and additional IoT devices. This module significantly reduces latency and improves responsiveness for latency-sensitive applications (voice, video). It enables smooth switching and superior connectivity even in large complex environments with multiple demanding devices such as hospitals and warehouses. Extending advanced Wi-Fi 6 MU-MIMO and OFDMA into new frequency bands using the 6 GHz spectrum, the SoC delivers reliable performance even in crowed areas.

The company claims that the QCM4490 has on-device processing capabilities for efficient data analysis between devices and the cloud (intelligent edge computing), and supports NR voice (VoNR) and 5G positioning (E-CID). It offers speeds up to 3.6 Gbps, powered by Qualcomm 4K Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM), 160 MHz channel support and unique 4-stream (2×2 + 2×2) Dual-Band Simultaneous (DBS). The module features an audio AI accelerator to enhance voice quality and voice UI accuracy, as well as enhanced camera ISP hardware to support superior image quality. It includes a Qualcomm Spectra Image Signal Processor (ISP) that supports 16+16 MP dual cameras at 30 fps and 1080p video capture at 60 fps. The SoC comes with Gen 9 V5 GNSS and supports Galileo, BeiDou, GLONASS, NavIC and GPS satellite systems.

According to the company, the Qualcomm QCM4490 SoC is based on 4 nm process node technology and features up to 2.4 GHz Qualcomm Kryo octa-core CPU, Qualcomm Adreno 613 GPU, 2.1 GHz LPDDR4x/3.2 GHz LPDDR5 memory, and 5G R16 Sub-6 100 MHz modem. It can be controled via USB 3.1 type-C, eMMC v5.1, SD3.0, UFS3.1 and PCIe connectors. The SoC is planned to support Android versions up to version 18 and industrial designs up to 2030.
