The history of PREMA (PRecision-Electronics MAinz) starts in 1970 and can be traced back to the development and production of digital measurement devices. Established by Dr. rer. nat. Hartmut Grützediek und Dr. rer. nat. Joachim Scheerer the company based on own-developed and patented analog-digital converters (A/D converters) with ultra high resolutions. For years, these measurement devices belonged to pioneers and market leaders in the field. After 30 years of a successful company history, in 2000 a change in strategy from measurement devices to semiconductor technology has been done. At that time, semiconductor technology was already a part of the production. Up to now, measurement devices fabricated by PREMA have been calibrated and repaired.
