Oxley's History

Oxley was founded in the UK by the late Robert Frederick (Freddy) Oxley in 1942.

Freddy started in business in 1940 producing capacitors for military equipment. Oxley has a history that is rich with innovation and creativity. Freddy had over 150 patents to his name and the company continues to lead the way in the development of new products and technologies.

Oxley Inc. was founded in California in 1976 to supply electronic components to the defense and aerospace market. The demand for the company’s innovative products enabled the company to expand and in 1984 the company moved to a manufacturing facility in Branford CT.

Oxley Inc. has established a center of excellence for the design and manufacture of rugged LED lighting products and systems for the defense and aerospace market. Manufacturing integration is a key feature of the Oxley business. The design, manufacturing and test facilities are retained in-house enabling better control over processes as well as reducing cost and lead times.
