1. TI price trend:

As the world's leading manufacturer of analog chips, TI has a market share of 19% (2020) of analog chip products. Analog ICs (77%) and embedded ICs (17%) are the two largest sources of revenue. The cumulative number of analog chip product models reaches Hundreds of thousands, even for general models, there are tens of thousands. Analog chips are divided into general-purpose and special-purpose. According to market sources, the power management chip (PMIC) generally refers to general-purpose, so the supply of not all analog chips has been eased.

Dedicated analog chips are divided according to specific downstream applications, involving communications, automobiles, industry, etc. Since domestic substitution is more difficult, they are still in short supply and their prices are relatively firm. Specifically, look at the price trends of the general and special categories.

The first category is general-purpose consumer products. We found that the price of this type of analog chips has dropped significantly, and many of them have dropped to normal prices, such as TPS61021ADSGR and TPS63070RNMR.

The second category is special-purpose. The price of this kind of analog chip is difficult to drop to the normal price in a short time, and there may even be a floating price increase, mainly because the demand in special fields such as automobiles is still very strong.

At the same time, the epidemic has brought changes to chip production and downstream demand in the industry chain. Automotive analog chips have also seen a price cut trend, and many have dropped significantly. Judging from the following part numbers, most of them have fallen from the highest price in the past year. . For example, the automotive PMIC TPS7B7702QPWPRQ1, which experienced skyrocketing at the beginning of the year, was a rare high price of seven or eight hundred a month ago, but now it has dropped a lot.

2. How do TI analog chips go up and down?

In the past two years, factors such as the epidemic, politics, and factory production interruptions have seriously affected the global chip supply. A large-scale shortage of chips has broken out. The mature process is extremely tight in production, and the production capacity of analog chips that rely on mature processes is even tighter.

In January last year, TI's individual PMIC Internet celebrity materials began to skyrocket. After the Chinese New Year, TI rose across the board, and the delivery period was extended to half a year or even 50 weeks; in March, materials below $1 fell into a "chip" shortage. The lack of price increases in the drive series is heating up, and the market has generally felt the signal of TI's price increase; in April, the price increase covered many models, and the frequent price increases on the next day indicated that the market has entered an unprecedented boom.

The inflection point is around August-October, and the price of TI is no longer high. With the resumption of economic production activities, the sound of chips arriving one after another has emerged, and the market has begun to be wary of the risk of falling prices for large-scale arrivals. However, the delay and uncertainty of the arrival time also keep the prices of many TIs still at relatively low levels. High position, even a price increase.

From Q1 to Q2 this year, the epidemics in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Shanghai brought instability to the market one after another. Especially in April, the demand for TI was significantly reduced. The chips ordered before the launch are gradually arriving. Conventional general-purpose chips have accumulated a lot of inventory, and the market price is getting lower and lower, approaching the normal price.

At present, the price of high-priced TI materials is falling rapidly, and the price of materials that are relatively scarce in car specifications is still high (TPS92662 has fallen all the way to the current price of about 750 yuan since March, and there are also online celebrity materials that have begun to rebound). In addition to a small number of materials that continue to be in short supply, under the demand downturn in the off-season, domestic substitution is advancing, OEM and market inventories are increasing, and the overall market price tends to be flat.
