Describe:

 

This TI design is a complete 8-channel digital input module front-end reference design for programmable logic controller (PLC).

 

This design has been fully tested and meets the IEC61000-4 EMC and surge requirements of industrial automation systems, thus speeding up customers' time to market. This design serially processes 8 digital inputs, each of which is up to 34 volts, reducing the number of isolated channels and GPIO pins required for host interfaces.

 

Serial data and control signals are electrically isolated from PLC using TI's high-speed 4242V peak voltage digital isolator technology.

 The design also includes isolated power supply for over-current protection, providing all necessary module voltages.

 

The design also provides complete documentation, test results, design files, and necessary firmware.
