Recently, Rohm, one of the world's leading semiconductor manufacturers, said: an innovative power supply technology that can improve the response performance of power supply ICs to a greater extent.  In the case of SiC components being hot, ROHM Semiconductor continues to lead innovation, focusing on SiC and GaN, and leapfrog development in the field of new generation power components.

I   It is reported that Rohm Co., Ltd. is one of the world's well-known semiconductor manufacturers, with a capital of 86,969 million yen (as of March 31, 2014), headquartered in Kyoto, Japan, and established as a small electronic parts manufacturer in 1958 Rohm, which started in Kyoto, gradually entered the field of semiconductors such as transistors and diodes and ICs in 1967 and 1969.

II  In 2012, ROHM has made a new breakthrough in power IC technology in the field of automotive semiconductors.

III  In 2018, with the booming business opportunities for wearable/IoT power supplies, ROHM unveiled a new generation of DC-DC converters.

In 2020, Rohm will make every effort to create SiC power supply solutions, and also open up a new path, developing the industry's first zero-crossing detection IC. In the same year, the brand released a white paper on the reference design of the vehicle power tree, which is widely loved by users.

Until last year, ROHM established the innovative power supply technology "QuiCurTM"  that can pursue the response performance of power supply ICs to a greater extent, and also developed and measured thin, light and high-output electric double layer capacitors (EDLC). Under the control of "QuiCurTM" technology, the number of power supply components is less and the operation is more stable, which helps to reduce the design man-hour of the power supply circuit.  ROHMs 2022 industrial and automotive cutting-edge new products will mainly be developed around power management ICs and power devices; at that time, ROHM established a mass production system for 150V GaN HEMTs with a gate withstand voltage of up to 8V ~ the first wave of EcoGaN products "GNE10xxTB series" , this series of new products will help applications such as base stations and data centers achieve lower power consumption and miniaturization. It can be seen that high-efficiency conversion can meet energy-saving requirements, and power supply design shows a new perspective.

In terms of the overall IC direction, experts explained that the supply of automotive ICs will still be limited in 2023 and will ease in the second half of the year.  It is obvious that the IC products developed by many companies have high growth potential, and panel driver IC factories will start a price war in 23H1.  Under this situation, IC demand will pick up quarter by quarter, and advanced IC substrates are expected to usher in Golden five years. Investors have bet on chip giants one after another recently, and a large number of chip manufacturers have seized the core position of IC industry recovery.
