Qualcomm self developed 12 core PC processor Oryon launched 3nm

Qualcomm announced that it has developed a new CPU core Oryon.

Oryon, the new CPU core of Qualcomm's self-developed PC processor, was officially unveiled recently.  Qualcomm Snapdragon customized 12-core CPU Oryon has recently spread a lot of news: 12-core, expected to be Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4, benchmarking against Apple's M-series processors. The PC market is therefore at war again. Oryon will become the core computing unit of Snapdragon PC chips in the future. At the same time, the Qualcomm PC processor "Hamoa" has 12 cores and supports LPDDR5X memory, which also means that the ARM PC era is coming. As a PC spoiler, Arm entered, and its sword pointed at Intel AMD.  It can be seen that the PC industry is still waiting for a "miracle" from "surge" to "slump".

 

Obviously, in 2023, Qualcomm's big move is not Snapdragon 8gen2, but Qualcomm Oryon core;  

Qualcomm is a global leader in 3G and 4G technology research and development.  

It has provided technology licenses to many manufacturers around the world, involving all the brands of telecommunications equipment and consumer electronics equipment in the world. In 2017, Qualcomm entered the passenger car market with cross-border wireless charging.  In November 2022, due to TSMC's delayed delivery, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 may switch to Samsung's 3nm GAA process. Samsung launched the ARM version of the Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 equipped with Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3, equipped with S-Pen!

It is reported that Qualcomm may hand over the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 to TSMC, which will be delivered in December.

Among them, the high yield rate of the 3nm process is the key. TSMC has recently started mass production of 3nm chips, which are mainly supplied to Apple, and it is speculated that this should be the M2 Pro processor. Snapdragon 8+ with independent display chip Pro+ iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition will be released on December 29.

 

In other processor-related news, Intel will launch its new Sapphire Rapids fourth-generation Xeon Scalable processors on January 10, but only samples.

This Processor Powers High Performance Computing! A few days ago, Intel launched two 7nm AI chips with up to 96GB HBM2e memory and lower training costs.

 

The AMD Ryzen 7000 non-X series processors have also been exposed recently: its TDP is 65W. AMD's official website also lists the Ryzen 7030 series of mobile processors.

In addition, AMD Ryzen R5-5500 fell below the 800 yuan mark, known as the first choice for installation!  The development of AMD's low-end chipset means that the biggest pain point of the future platform will be solved.
