Latest Intel Processors Cover Mobile Desktop and Edge

At CES 2024, Intel unveiled its complete 14th generation Intel Core mobile and desktop processor lineup, including powerful new HX Series mobile processors and mainstream 65W and 35W desktop processors.

Intel also introduced the new Intel Core Series 1 family of mobile processors, led by the Intel Core 7 processor 150U, for high-performance mainstream thin and light mobile systems.

In conjunction with the introduction of these new mobile and desktop processors at CES, Intel partners also unveiled the new Intel Core Ultra Power systems. Whether PC users are looking for powerful enthusiast and mainstream mobile and desktop PCs powered by 14th Gen Intel Core or new AI PCs powered by Intel® Core™ Ultra processors, Intel has the right computing offering.

 

The new Intel Core 14th Generation HX Series mobile processors are built for gamers, creators and professionals who need both a higher level of computing performance and the mobility offered by laptops. Dominated by the Intel Core i9-14900HX, the new HX Series features 8 performance cores (P-cores) and 16 efficiency cores (E-cores), combining best-in-class connectivity with incredible single- and multi-threaded performance. In addition, the HX Series also delivers a leap in creator performance thanks to a 50 percent increase in the number of E-cores in the Intel® Core™ i7-14700HX processor.

 

The new processor family includes:

-Up to 5.8 GHz RWD frequency, up to 17% improvement in gaming performance and up to 51% improvement in multitasking performance over the previous generation.

-The i9-14900HX processor has up to 24 cores (8 P-cores, 16 E-cores) and 32 threads.

-The number of E-cores in the i7-14700HX processor has been increased by 50 percent to 20 cores (8 P-cores, 12 E-cores) and 28 threads.

-Supports up to 192 GB of total DDR5-5600 megabytes transfer per second (MT/S) memory.

-Overclocking capabilities on the HX Series processors, including Intel® Extreme Utility (XTU) and Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) support.

-New Intel® Application Optimization (APO) support for the HX Series, with support for six new games (out of a total of eight) since October 2023, when Intel Core 14th Gen desktops were first introduced.

-Thunderbolt™ 5 delivers 80 Gb per second of bi-directional bandwidth, with a bandwidth boost delivering up to 120 Gbps, three times faster than today's fastest products, for an optimal display and data experience - in addition to Thunderbolt™ 4, which offers 40 Gbps of bandwidth for PCs connecting to multiple 4K displays and accessories.

-Leading wireless features, including integrated Intel® Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) and available new discrete Intel® Wi-Fi 7 (5 Gig) for multi-gigabit speeds, wired-like responsiveness and extreme reliability in more locations.

-The latest Bluetooth® connectivity supports Bluetooth 5.4 and Bluetooth 5.3, providing superior performance for multiple simultaneous Bluetooth-enabled device connections.


Intel Core 14th Generation Mainstream Desktop Processors

Intel's expansion of the 14th Gen Core desktop stack offers mainstream PC users, as well as organizations across vertical markets, new ways to experience the performance of Intel's latest generation of desktop processors. These 18 new processors help users game, create and work at the level they need to every day, while enjoying the platform features they expect from Intel.

 

The latest Intel desktop processors include:

-Up to 5.8 GHz RWD frequency, up to 37% improvement in multi-threaded performance and up to 7% improvement in Microsoft Office performance over the previous generation.

-Up to 24 cores (8 P-cores, 16 E-cores) and 32 threads for the i9-14900 processor.

-For the i7-14700, 4 additional E-cores are added for a total of 20 cores (8 P-cores, 12 E-cores) and 28 threads.

-Supports up to 192 GB of DDR5-5600/DDR4-3200 MT/S memory - Backwards compatible with existing Intel 600 and 700 series based motherboards.

-Continued support for built-in cooling solutions, including Intel® Laminar RH1 and RM1 coolers.

-Next generation wireless connectivity with support for Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi 7 (5 Gig) and Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+).

-Continues to support PCIe Gen 5.0, Gen 4.0, and Thunderbolt 4 for 40 Gbps bandwidth in addition to integrated USB 3.2 connectivity support for up to 20 Gbps transfer bandwidth.

-Intel Core 7 Processor 150U with up to 5.4 GHz and up to 10 cores (two P-cores, eight E-cores) and 12 threads.

-DDR5-5200/DDR4-3200 MT/S memory totaling up to 96 GB.

-Thunderbolt 4 universal connectivity for work and play, supporting 40 Gbps bandwidth for multiple 4K displays and accessories.

-Support for 8 PCIe Gen 4.0 and 12 PCIe Gen 3.0 lanes for the latest solid state drive (SSD) storage.
